about

Big John’s Daughter starts off with the Irish standard Sporting Paddy before the set takes a trip to Cape Breton Island for McKinnon's Rant. The set is rounded off with Cha Toir Ian Mhor a Nigheann Dhomh or Big John Won’t Let Me Marry His Daughter, a Scottish puirt-a-beul (mouth music) melody which gradually melts into an old time tune. The track highlights the mix of styles in the band.
